Preserving the Natural Beauty of Seaglass: GHO Homes' Mission

Finding a community that truly respects its environment can feel rare. You want a beautifully crafted house, but you also want the shade, history and serenity that only mature nature can provide. At Seaglass, GHO Homes makes this balance a reality. We design our neighborhoods to harmonize with their natural surroundings.

Our mission goes far beyond simply building houses. We want to maintain the natural feel that makes Seaglass so special. From protecting majestic giant oak trees to building serene trails, we place nature at the heart of our design. Read on to learn how we blend thoughtful development with environmental preservation, including our incredible process for saving and relocating massive oak trees.

Harmonizing with the Natural Environment

When you step into Seaglass, the environment immediately welcomes you. We designed this community as a preserved beauty. Instead of clear-cutting land to maximize lots, we looked at the existing landscape and asked how we could work alongside it.

Meandering pathways weave throughout the neighborhood. Boardwalks protect the ground below while allowing residents to explore their surroundings. The community design focuses on keeping the area's natural, untouched feel intact. We believe that development should enhance the environment, not erase it.

The Commitment to Majestic Oak Trees

Oak trees stand as the towering guardians of the Florida landscape. They provide essential shade, support local wildlife, and add deep character to the community. Because of this, GHO Homes treats these majestic trees with the utmost respect.

Many developers choose to cut down mature trees because working around them takes time and resources. We take a different approach. Whenever possible, we relocate large oaks instead of removing them. This commitment requires careful planning, skilled arborists and dedication to Seaglass’ vision. Keeping these trees alive ensures that new homeowners instantly benefit from the established canopy and timeless beauty that only decades of growth can provide.

A Tale of Relocation: Making Room for a Pool

Recently, we faced a common challenge. A new home under construction was slated to add a pool to the back of the home. However, a massive oak tree stood in the area needed for this space.

Our team knew that tearing the tree down was not an option. We brought in tree specialists to evaluate the oak's health and root structure. They determined that the tree was strong enough to survive a move. The goal was to shift the massive tree to a different spot on the property, creating space for the pool without losing the natural charm of the backyard.

The Careful Move

Relocating a mature oak requires extreme precision. The team spent days carefully excavating the soil around the base to preserve the massive root ball. Using heavy machinery, they gently lifted the tree from its original home. They then transported the oak to a pre-dug space designed perfectly for its dimensions.

Living at Seaglass means embracing a lifestyle where nature comes first. GHO Homes will continue to prioritize the preservation of this beautiful environment.
